Infinity Blade updated with free ‘The Deathless Kings’ expansion, on sale for $2.99

Epic and Chair Entertainment made a big splash with Infinity Blade late last year. The Punch-Out style sword fighting game garnered a lot of praise upon release and is still among the best looking games available for any portable platform.

Chair promised that they would continue to support the game through free updates, the first of which hit in early January. Today’s release is much more substancial than the first. Here’s the list of additions straight from Epic:

  • Gain access to the all-new “Dungeon” game play environment.
  • Players can battle and explore through six new game arenas, which nearly doubles the size of the game.
  • Featuring The Deathless Kings, players will encounter ten new enemies, including the Wood Jester, the Iron Guard, the Plated Sorok, the Warden, and more.
  • Fans will have the ability to continue building their character with NewGame+, which allows gamers to re-master any item, unlock new items in the store, and removes the level cap.
  • Collect and master more than 30 all-new magic rings, swords, shields, helmets, and armor.
  • Gain new achievements and compete on the leaderboards.
  • Enjoy new gameplay enhancements and optimizations, including multiple character slots, dodge button size slider, and audio volume controls.

That is a lot of new content, but if that still isn’t enough to get you to try the game, how about a temporary sale price of $2.99. Stop fighting it, buy it if you haven’t already.

It will be interesting to see if future Infinity Blade updates will take advantage of the iPad 2′s beefier hardware. Surely Epic and co. could whip-up something pretty sweet with a 9x increase in graphics horsepower at their disposal.
