BioShock Infinite set for October 16, 2012 release

BioShock Infinite release date

It’s been almost 5 years since BioShock first sent us into the underwater city of Rapture. 2K Games and Irrational Games have announced a solid release date for BioShock Infinite. Ken Levine’s skybound dystopian action game is set to launch on October 16, 2012 in the US, and October 19 internationally on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

“After BioShock, we had a vision for a follow up that dwarfed the original in scope and ambition,” said Ken Levine. “BioShock Infinite has been our sole focus for the last four years, and we can’t wait for fans to get their hands on it.”

At E3 Ken Levine appeared on the Sony stage talking about potential for Move support and a BioShock title for the PlayStation Vita. No word on the developments on those two projects, but E3 is just a few months away, and with a release in mid-October, E3 in June will serve for a great jumping off point for BioShock Infinite PR machine.
