GameStop hardware trade-in program ramps-up for Nexus 7, new games shown

Google held its anual Google IO conference this week, and among the biggest announcements was a new 7-inch tablet, the Nexus 7. GameStop has been dealing in used Android and iOS hardware for a while now, and it readying some nice incentives for those wanting to get in on Google’s latest.

GameStop is offering pre-orders for the Nexus 7 (8GB/$199 and 16GB/$249) [Correction: GameStop is only offering the 16GB version], and all trade-ins going specifically towards the purchase of the new tablet will get a 30 percent boost to their trade-in value. Current Android tablet owners can essentially do a straight trade for the Nexus 7 as GameStop says they will be offering up to $200 cash or $250 store credit depending on the model.

While the Nexus 7 won’t be a complete gaming powerhouse, games did get a bit of time on during the announcement with a new, Zelda-like game called Horn, and first-person zombie-shooter Dead Trigger (now on iOS) appearing with in short demos.
